A seminar titled Food Safety Seminar 2019 was held by GeneCraft Labs cooperated with Thermo Scientific at Fairmont Hotel, Jakarta on Tuesday, April 30th, 2019. This seminar invited people who are experts in their fields as speakers. They were Dr. Joachim Weiss (Technical Director for Chromatography Products), Dr. Daniels Cavagnino (Product Marketing Manager–AS, GC, SQ for Chromatography Products), Mr. Paul Dewsbury (Vertical Marketing Manager–Food and Beverage), Mr. Kousik Paltandi (Sr. Sales Specialist, Enterprise CDS/APAC), Ir. Tetty H. Sihombing (Plt. Deputi Bidang Pengawasan Pangan Olahan–Direktorat Standardisasi Pangan Olahan BPOM), and Tri Joko R., S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D (Researcher–Institute Halal Industry & System Department of Chemistry Universitas Gadjah Mada).
This course was held with the aim to increase awareness and knowledge in food industry, especially in food safety and quality. Those are indeed very important issues because the safety and the qualiy are the most essential things to consider in order to meet the health standard that has been established by Ministry of Health.
Through this seminar, the participants could learn about various analytical solutions so they could also contribute in providing not only the high-quality food, but also the safety itself which can meet the public’s nutritional needs. In order to achieve that goals, researchers can do the experiments using Thermo Scientific laboratory instruments which allow them to achieve the best results as consumer’s expectations. The analytical solutions can be done by Orbitrap technology (from sample preparation to data processing, from three-squared targeted analysis to screening analysis).
This seminar was attended by more than 30 participants. It was ended with doorprize in the afternoon.
